The future of Social Networking

There is talk that the features of social networking will gradually absorb into everything we do online or possibly be accessed through bespoke personal portals. This means that future social networking may not be destination dependent and we won’t need to log in to a branded url to connect. Can Facebook, MySpace and Bebo sustain longlivity after the spike of hype wears down, and could this potential change shift the social networking model into an improved and more advanced form?
