Oh The Anticipation…

Sony PS3 LittleBigPlanet

Ok so my new favourite thing ever…..even though I haven’t played it yet (fickle aren’t I!?  :-D   ), and do not yet have a PS3 so am unlikely to be able to play it even when it does come out any minute now…. *gasp* remember to breathe Cass..

LittleBigPlanet!!! I know you are not surprised because I’m only one of a trillion people who are on the edge of their couches waiting… waiting…but I don’t mind being one of the crowd every now and again.

What elements of this game am I most excited about?? Um, EVERYTHING! From the gorgeous graphics to the interesting music to the cute adaptable sack boy/ girls - have a look for yourself! (in case you’ve been hiding under a rock and haven’t seen any of the promotional material).

One of the best things about this game is the encouragement to tap into your own well of creativity not only to adapt / decorate exisiting levels and your sackboy character but also to create levels of your own. From what I have seen, the tools provided make it so simple even a technically inept person like me can begin to unleash their crazy game ideas!

Hopefully the ease of this will help encourage more people to as the slogan goes: Play, Create, Share. Would love to see more local communities coming out of this!

On that note will stop my gush and say - if you are into gaming, particulaly if you have some creative gamind ideas of your own, come down to AFTRS on Sat Nov 1st. A bunch of us are getting together to talk games and virtual worlds, present our own ideas, get some tips from the experts and meet up with some like-minded people. It’s free and worth a squiz (that means a look for those of you who don’t speak Cass).

You can find out more and/or register your talk at GameJam.org.au

More info on LittleBigPlanet including trailers, and downloads can be found at the official website, wallpapers for iPhone and iPod Touch at Dreamstation and a tour of the game can be found on BBC News here.

  • Thank you for checking out our LittleBigPlanet iPhone wallpaper on DreamStation.cc that I created. I was/am excited about the game coming out also and that is why I created iPhone wallpapers.

After I created them I decided to share them with the world for other LittleBigPlanet and iPhone fans to enjoy.

I was able to play LittleBigPlanet this weekend, since my brother’s copy came in, and it was a blast. I am still waiting for my copy, since my friend bought it for me on Amazon for my birthday and I have to wait for it to come in the mail.

We went through the first 3 or 4 levels and had a blast solving the simple puzzles, smacking each other around, and pasting stickers and other items on each other’s sackboy. We played it for a few hours and the time flew by. It will be interesting to see how entertaining the game is in single player mode, but two-player was a lot of fun.
