Crossover Australia - 09 Applications Open

As the LAMP team are busy developing  internal courses here in AFTRS, Mr. LAMP is having a well earned rest from external cross-media development for a few months. So what are you all to do? Well as regards other incubator labs in Australia that actually grow your idea we wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending Frank Boyd and Heather Croall’s Crossover coming up in South Australia (Adelaide surrounds) 15-19 February 2009. Frank Boyd is really the grandfather of these types of labs, based on the ‘huddle-together-and-create-in-a-remote-place”, methodology which has proven success now.

It is a slightly different model than the previous eight LAMP residentials in that it develops ideas from scratch, rapidly and relies on kick-starting the bond between mentors and 28 participants (who effectively merge as teams) to create new forms…or something close to that, perhaps Frank can comment on this post. Anyway they have a great Facebook group here and applications are open here…(well the site is flash based so you will have to follow the links!)…more info below…

Crossover is an extraordinary, international series of ‘innovation labs’ for creative professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds: game developers, tv and film producers, web designers, animators, theatre practitioners and others. Each Crossover lab is an immersive, five day incubator fostering new collaborations and original ideas for cross platform content and services.

Every lab culminates with a meeting with commissioners and buyers from a range of creative industry backgrounds: tv commissioners, advertising agencies, public and private investors.
